George Perez Leaves Superman

Nightmare news! George Perez, the writer for the main Superman series over at DC, is going to step down after issue #6. This is devastating news because Superman was shaping up to be the most glorious mess we'd ever seen, and now we're not going to get any more lines as good as "it was a tower of babel of incomprehensibility". We still have five issues though, you guys! We'll just have to treasure them when they arrive.

Keith Giffen is going to step into the void, making this the second DC title he's inherited within the past month. He will also be taking over Green Arrow, replacing JT Krul.

Keep your eyes glued to ComVan, because we're going to be giving you a thorough review of Superman #1 over the weekend. SPOILER: Superman throws the Daily Planet globe at someone!

Why are they giving the book to another wordy old guy best known for art rather than writing?
